It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Carl Backes of Amery, Wisconsin, born in Clayton, Wisconsin, who passed away on July 13, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Backes and Frances Backes (Molls); his wife Lorraine; and his siblings, Bernard Backes, Raymond Backes, Marcella Gross and Marie Lindahl.

He is survived by: his sister Sarah Rudeen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends.
