He is survived by: his wife Marlys Lee Smith; his sons, Peter, Jr. (Susan) of Ames, IA and John (Dawn) of Appleton, WI; his grandchildren, Stella, Paul, Rachel and Kenneth; his siblings, Sara Hanhan of LaPorte, MN and Erik (Ell) of Grand Forks, ND; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Isaacson of Hot Springs, AR.
