She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Schmidt and Loretta Schmidt (Ashauer); her brothers, Mark, Earl and Alan Schmidt; her son-in-law Shawn Cleveland; and her nephew Bob Schmidt.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rita Peters, Silvia Golz (Steven), Barbara Cleveland and Anna Lemke (Shawn Balke); her grandchildren, Lizzie, Emma Peters, Jake, Matt Golz, Tiffany Sobiesczyk, Kayla, Megan Braun-Lemke, Brady Cleveland, Corey Lemke (Mallory Seeger) and Tyler (Morgan); her siblings, Joan Woldt (Steve), Paul Schmidt (Deb), Rose Heegeman and Neil Schmidt; and her sisters-in-law, Anna Schmidt and Donna Schmidt.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been set up in Ruth's name for Children 's Giving Tree.
