With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sylvia M. Nichols of Appleton, Wisconsin, who passed away on December 2, 2021 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank and Elizabeth Herres Nowak Sr.; her husband Paul Gertz; her former husbands, George Springer and James Nichols; and her siblings, Leona, Lucille, Bernadine and Frank Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Mary Hopfensperger (David), Frank Gertz (Heidi), John Gertz (Kathy), Gregory Gertz and Tony Gertz (Linda); her grandchildren, Cari (Greg), Kristy (Matt), Katy, Maggie, Holly (Nathan), Lindsey (Craig), Amy, Joseph (Anna) and Paul; her great grandchildren, Kyli, Carson, Emmett, Rowen, Jonah, Eleanor, Harriet, Atlas, Sylvia and Reed; and her siblings, Robert, Stanley Nowak and Marilyn Heimermann. She is also survived by numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established for St. Joseph's Food Program.
