He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Pontow and Leone Pontow (Sedarski); his parents-in-law, John and Hazel Grathen; his brother Robert; his sister-in-law Teresa Pontow; and his brother Richard Pontow.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his children, Kirk Pontow (Arlene) and Jolie Bourassa (John); his grandchildren, Cassandra and John "JJ" Bourassa Jr.; his brother Timothy Pontow (Jean); and his sister-in-law Barbara Pontow. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
