He was predeceased by: his parent Lucy Shinn; his sister Huberta Olive (William Sr.); his grandparents, David and Martha Shinn; and his aunts and uncles, Cora Burnson (James), Viola Bast (Delbert), Willard (Fern) and Gilbert Shinn (Shirley).
He is survived by: his wife Carol Rundell; his children, Mary Knapp (Ed) and Charles Shinn (Rosa); his granddaughter Lisa (Thomas Para); his great grandchildren, William Olive (Kristin), Marie Bishop (Rick), Gail Helle (Bruce), Ruth Chapman, Robert Olive (Barb) and Bruce Boutell (Shaila); Lowell Shinn and Marilyn Jones. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He also regularly attended services at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Belmont, until Covid-19, which prevented him from attending in person.
