He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Matzke and Minnie Matzke (Bauch); and his siblings, Mabel Carlson, Hilbert and Alvin.

He is survived by : his sister Gertrude Matzke of Birnamwood; his nephews, John Carlson (Phyllis) of Birnamwood, Cordell, Austin, Jaxson, Carissa, Aidan, Kaitlyn and Ryker; and also, Jeremy Carlson (Kristine) of Birnamwood, Jason Carlson (Heather) of Birnamwood and Jordan Carlson of Birnamwood.
