He was predeceased by : his parents, Ernest and Christine; his brother Jerry; his sister-in-law Carol Christie; his nephew Michael Christie; his grandson-in-law Nick Janz; and his siblings-in-law, Roger, Eileen Hellerud and Gerald Hilleshiem.

He is survived by : his wife Mary; his children, Debra, Denyse (Peter) and Dan (Carrie); his grandchildren, Eric (Rochelle), Amy (Seth), Kevin (Jennifer), Kaitlyn (Kyle), Lisa, Jeremy (Carrie) and Lori; his great grandchildren, Nate (Gabby), Nick (Ashley), Ian, Mac, Ellie, Jaedyn, Cooper, Moira, Elizabeth, Nolan, Silas, Julian and Zander; his great great grandchildren, Wisdom, Nevaeha, Gracen and Talon; and his sisters-in-law, Sharon and Irene. He is also survived by 3 nieces and 4 great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim's honor to Faith Lutheran Church in Black River Falls, the Kidney Foundation, or the Alzheimer's Association.
