He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Brandt and Rose Brandt; and his siblings, Rosalyn, Walter, William, Roger and Howard.

He is survived by : his wife Arlene; his children, Christa Hackert (Eric), Irv Jr. Brandt (Jenny), Bob Brandt (Heather) and Cindy Uhlig (Rich); his grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle Hackert, Benjamin Brandt, Jack, Jon and Lilly Brandt; his stepgranddaughters, Allissa Goodman, Lindsey Abad (Toryn) and Lizzy Kison (Jared); his brother Ray Brandt (Kathy); his sisters-in-law, Diane Brandt, Katie Brandt and Pat Nysse (Dan); and also, Will, Finn, Declan and Annabeth. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

If desired, memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Ozaukee County 4-H Foundation or the Wisconsin Parkinson Association would be appreciated.

“My sincere condolences to Arlene & the family on Irv's passing. I treasure time together at Peninsula State Park. The Spooktacular hikes in the fall are memorable, to say the least, and Irv is a big part of those happy memories. We spent many an hour setting up ... and taking down trail decorations. Irv was always helpful, kind, and very handy with fix-it jobs and woodworking! I wonder if he was the one who routed the "Naturalist" sign that hangs in my home office. God's peace & comfort to you.”
