He was predeceased by : his parents, Arthur Nyhus and Savrina Nyhus (Flackey); and his siblings, Lorraine Denning, Sharon Nyhus, Donna, Merne, Harlen and Duane Nyhus (Whimp).

He is survived by : his wife Violet Reim; his children, Gary Nyhus of Chippewa Falls, Sandy Heidtke (Dave) of Eagleton, Tim Nyhus (Cindy) of Chippewa Falls, Cindy Heidtke of Chippewa Falls, Pam Parkhurst (Charlie) of Jim Falls, Art Nyhus (Gina) of Chippewa Falls and Debbie Spearbecker (Bill) of Barron; and his siblings, Wanda LeCleir (Bob), Rogene Cardinal (Jim) and Ron Nyhus (Jan). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren.
