He was predeceased by : his father Malen Strong; his sisters, Sharon Dey (Lyle) and Barbara; and his siblings-in-law, John Plutz and Kathy Linsmeyer.

He is survived by : his wife Pat; his children, Shane Strong (Valerie), Scott Strong (Amy) and Shelley Gilbert (Michael); his grandchildren, Bryanna, Hannah, Anastasia, Hunter, Levi and Paige; his stepgrandchildren, Jessie and Travis; his nephews, Kevin Dey and Doug Dey (Laurie); and his close friends, Hanke and Diesel.
