She was predeceased by : her parents, Anton Helfert and Pauline Helfert (Gass); her husband Theodore Schmidt; and her siblings, Joseph, Carl, Anthony, Paul, Nick, Agnes Bartnik and Marie Kugel.

She is survived by : her children, Daniel (Dorothy) of Mosinee, Alan (Kathy) of Windsor, Colleen Wegner of Alexandria, MN, William (Jeri) of Abbotsford and Aaron (Ellen) of Thorp; and her sister-in-law Beatrice Helfert of Colby. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
