He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustave Pirkl and Mary Pirkl (O'Connor); and his siblings, Robert Blake, Mary Grieger, John Blake, Virginia Olsen, James Blake, Kathleen Margraf and Daniel Pirkl.
He is survived by: his wife Marian (Smith); his children, Daniel (Teresa), Tim and Cheryl Halverson (Bruce); and his grandchildren, Derek Pirkl (Ruthie), Geoff Pirkl (Erika), Christopher Perkins (Amanda) and Carrie Malicki (Matt). He is also survived by eight great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
