He is survived by: his son Matt Nerling; his brothers, David and Bo Nerling; his siblings' children, Tom Nerling (Amber) and Kristina Nerling (Carri Jo Bunker); his brother-in-law Toby McKay; his nephew Robert Miller; and his close friend Albert Paffel.
