He was predeceased by: his parents, Alden Pilger and Bernice Pilger (Geiwitz); his wife Judy Anderson; and his brothers, Jerry Pilger (Karen) and Thomas Pilger (Beth).

He is survived by: his daughters, Yvette Schambow (Craig), Bethann Walz (Carl) and Jolene Grass (Keith); his grandchildren, Brent Schambow (Chani), Brandon Walz, Brice Schambow (Tomalyn), Brittany Schambow (James Gibson) and Bryanna Stando (Lucas); and the mother of his children Sharon Pilger. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
