He was predeceased by: his parents, James Branton and Agnes Branton (Nelson); his wife Nancy Branton; his daughter Amy; and his brother Charles "Bob" Branton (Astrid).
He is survived by: his close friend Sybil Klug; his sons, John Branton (Dawn), Jamie Branton (Shelley) and Jason Branton; the mother of his children Carol Branton-Sams; his grandchildren, Brittaney, Aaron, Alden, Branden, Nate, Lucas and Ashley (Shawn); his great grandchildren, Tynin, Gary, Charlotte and Henry; and his cousins, Ted Cannon (Chris) and Tom Cannon (Mary).
In lieu of flowers, cash donations will go to a planted memorial in Congdon Park – where he would often go walking.
