He is survived by: his wife Lavonne; his children, John Zempel (Sue) of St. Louis and Krista Holland (Tom) of Appleton; and his grandchildren, Christopher, Joseph, Ellie, Ted, Will, Drew and Matthew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to St. John's Lutheran Church in Elkhorn.
