He was predeceased by: his parents, Palmer Fremstad and Pearl Fremstad; his wife Karen Johnson; his brothers-in-law, Dave Rutledge, Peter Johnson (Lois), Haakon Olson and David Johnson; and his niece Connie Rutledge.
He is survived by: his daughter Dayna Smith (Jon); his granddaughters, Lindsey Borsheim (Rob Jensen) and Kelsey Borsheim (Dale Bennett); his great grandchildren, Zeppelyn and Presley Bennett; his sister Rosemary Rutledge; his siblings-in-law, Yvonne Nixdorf (Ron), Ardis Olson, Linda Johnson, Sonja Scharf (Chuck), Jone Miller (Warren) and Mike Johnson; and his close friend Dave. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
