He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Nelson and Nora Nelson (Erlandson); his son Layne Nelson; his wife Mary Jane Nelson; and his siblings, Harley Nelson, Arlene Beale (Dorr), Glen Nelson (Mabel), Clifford Nelson (Mary Lou), Florence Hanson (Randolph) and Grace Nelson.
He is survived by: his former wife Erma "Jeanne" Quist; his close friend Mary Jane Nelson (Trok); his children, Charles Nelson (Roxane), Kristine Meirick (Chris) and Douglas Nelson (Kimberly); his grandchildren, Nora Culver (Andy), Nicholas Nelson (Jessica Tromberg), Mattea, Hannah Meirick, Alexander and Madeline Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Sloan, Lyla Culver, Alexis, Ayden, Avery Nelson and Bri Tromberg. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
