He is survived by: his wife Lea Schlaefer; his children, Joseph Schlaefer (Julie), Mary Gillespie (Chuck), Thomas Schlaefer (Esther) and Ann Schlaefer; and his grandchildren, Mike Welsh (Jessie), Jennifer Taylor (Jeff), Andrew Gillespie (Jarin) and John Gillespie (Kelli). He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
