He is survived by: his wife Toni Short; his children, Jamie, Melissa (Rusty Thompson) of Evansville, Lacy (Tony Butler) of Brodhead and Kathy Arteaga (Oscar); his siblings, Gene Sperry (Ruth), Betty Broge, Donna Ashe and Joyce Belter (Jim); his parent-in-law Lawton Short (Joyce); his siblings-in-law, Judy Hoffman, Denise Burns (Todd), Stephen Short, Thomas Short (Theresa) and Donald Short; his grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Savannah of Chris, JR., Owen, Trevor, Alexandra, Landen, Elizabeth and Charlotte; his great grandchildren, Sophia and Emilee; his niece Jeanne Nastali; and his pet Sammy.
