He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans Gyr and Lena Gyr; his grandfather Mike; and his sister Dorothy. He is survived by: his children, James (Belinda) and Kathryn; his grandchildren, Doug Hipple Mike (Beth), Kyle and Kasey Gyr; his great grandchildren, Griffin Hipple, Weslie Hipple and Everett Hipple; Sue Hipple (Marc).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Zacherl Funeral Home (875 E Division St, Fond du Lac, WI 54935). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Church of Peace or American Cancer Society.
