Gerald G. Gelhaar II Obituary

Gerald (Gerry) Gelhaar II, age 68, died peacefully at his home in Germantown, Wisconsin on August 3, 2023 surrounded by his family. Born August 25, 1954 in Milwaukee, Gerry was a steamfitter by trade and worked in the industry for over 35 years. An avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, and lifelong Badger and Packer fan, Gerry looked forward to gambling outings, especially to Las Vegas. He loved his family and was a very proud grandfather.

Gerry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen (Kathy), their two children, Amanda (Mandy) Schulz (Patrick) and Gerald (Gerry) Gelhaar III (Lori), four grandchildren Tyler, Devin, and Madison Gelhaar and Lilly Schulz, brothers Jeff (Janel), Graham (Lisa), Tony (Joan Ponzi), sister Kim Bloom (Tom), in-laws Jim and Louise Doornek, Claudine and the late Jerry Doornek, Jeanne and Fred Braby, Dan and Maureen Doornek, Carol and the late Scott Croegaert, Dave Doornek, and Patrick Doornek/Ellen Riley, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Gerry was preceded in death by his father and mother, Gerald (Gerry) and Joanne Gelhaar.

Visitation will be held at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home on Monday, August 7 from 4:00 PM until the time of memorial service at 6:00 PM. According to Gerry's wishes, casual dress is preferred. Please consider wearing Packers, Badgers, and/or camouflage clothing.

Gerry's family would like to thank the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic (Aurora Health Center) in Germantown and Aurora Home Hospice for all their loving care. In addition, a special thank you to Gerry's brother Graham for always being there when he was needed the most.
