James L. Brendemuehl Obituary

James Brendemuehl, 79, of Germantown, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 25th, 2025.

Born on February 23, 1945, in Milwaukee, WI, Jim was the cherished son of Elmer and Shirlane Brendemuehl and the beloved husband of Adona Brendemuehl. Jim will be remembered for his contagious smile and laugh, sense of humor, kindness to all who knew him, and his faith. He was a committed member of St. Boniface Catholic Parish.

A proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, Jim dedicated 45 years to a successful career in financial services, working with several different companies. Throughout his career, he built lasting relationships and left a positive impact on colleagues and clients alike.

But Jim's greatest legacy was his love for his family. He was a devoted husband, an incredible dad, and a proud grandfather. He set an unmatched example of love, commitment, and presence—especially in his deep and joyful partnership with Adona, with whom he traveled often and shared a love that inspired everyone around them. His favorite trip was a yearly trip to Door County with the full family—it's where they made some of the best family memories.

Jim is survived by his four children and their spouses: Gary and Sandy Brendemuehl, Keith and Carrie Ceman, Adam and Andrea Brendemuehl, and Corey and Jennifer Becker; and grandchildren: Eric Brendemuehl, Taylor Brendemuehl and fiancée Peyton Jenkins, Jacob Brendemuehl, Teagen Brendemuehl, Kenna Becker, Greyson Becker, Kolton Ceman, Brogan Ceman, Reagan Becker and Adley Becker. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Jesinski (Tom Jesinski), along with many cousins and close friends.

Jim was the life of the party—always laughing, always caring. He taught his kids to work hard and play hard, and he never missed a moment to support his grandkids, showing up with pride at every game, play, or event. A lifelong Badger fan, he could be found tailgating with friends and family, watching a game and cheering on his team.

At home, Jim's green thumb brought beauty to everything he touched—his yard was a point of pride and looked like a park, meticulously maintained with love, which he learned from his Dad. Whether hosting a family gathering, cracking a joke at the perfect moment, or lending a helping hand at church, Jim lived with joy, generosity, and heart.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A memorial service will be held at St. Boniface Church on Wednesday, August 6th. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m., with a mass at noon, followed by a burial and celebration of life. All are warmly invited to attend and celebrate Jim's life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Boniface School to support the new Family Center—a cause close to Jim's heart.
