He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Orten and Carolyn Orten; and his brother Jon. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Orten (Pagel); his children, Brenda Kemp (Mike), Wally Orten (Stacey), Bonnie Waskiewicz (Larry) and William Orten (Kelly); his brother Gerry Orten Sr. (Bonnie); and his grandchildren, Dan, Dave Kemp (Tanya), Kailee, Justin, Tanner, Alex Orten, Madeline and Gillian Waskiewicz. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the USS Liberty Library in Grafton in honor of his love of history and reading.
