He was predeceased by : his parents, George Ratchman and Bernice Ratchman (Radtke); and his nephew Terry Pofahl. He is survived by : his spouse Shirley; his children, Brien Ratchman (Sara) of Greenville, Kelly Gloudemans (Timm) of Greenville, Dean Ratchman of Greenville and Jay Ratchman (Donna) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew, Tessa, Karisa, Garett, Kaitlyn, Olivia, Ava and Alex; and his sisters, Charmaine Monroe and Carol Nikolaus. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

“Our hearts are broken with the passing of Uncle Don, the best Uncle anyone could have. He had a joy for life and the most playful and infectious spirit. I have many wonderful memories of him, especially as a child... he always had the ability to make you feel really important.
