He was predeceased by : his parents, Edmund Benedict and Edythe Benedict (Bengtson); his grandparents, Victor and Ida Bengtson; his stepgrandmother Emma; his grandparents, Frank and Louise Benedict (Radtz); and his brother-in-law Tom Becker.

He is survived by : his children, Robert Benedict (Bridgit), Brenda Ruples and Jim Benedict (Heather); his grandchildren, Marcus, Joseph, Mattie and Paige; and his sisters, Virginia Schwan (Donny), Carol Becker and Sharon Benedict. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
