He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Thorburn, Ruby Stein, Bernard and Gert Kersten; and his nephew Mark Lukitsch.
He is survived by: his wife LeAnn Kersten; his parents, Charles Kersten and Linda Kersten; his sister Lisa Lukitsch (Dano); his sibling's children, Megan and Kelly Benning (Bill); his parents-in-law, Maurice (Ike) and Patricia Joel; his brother-in-law Bret Joel (Kristy); his sibling's children, Hayley, Alyssa, Brayden and Solomon; and also Sydney.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
