He is survived by: his children, Amy Eckert (Ryan Clark) and Eric Thornton (Cheryl); the mother of his children Sue Thornton-Gray; his grandchildren, Allie Patten (Greg), Maggie Eckert (Chris Olson), Olivia Eckert, Eli Eckert, Alexa Schieldt (Nick) and Leah Thornton; his great grandchildren, Bentley Patten and Rylee Patten; his siblings, Jack Thornton, Beverly Thompson, Sheryl Fahey (Jim) and Ron Thornton (Tina); his parents-in-law, Marlyn Thornton and Velda Thornton; his close friend Janet Schultz; Paul "Popsie", Maxine Schultz, Suzanne Fosdal, Jeffrey Schultz (Carrie), David Schultz (Susan), Paula Fosdal, Lane Fosdal, Tony, Nick, Jason and Ryan Schultz.
