He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Merrifield and Beth Merrifield (Waufle); his former life partner Barbara Recht; and his half-brother Bob Wells (Clara Mae). He is survived by : his children, Patti Flores and Steve Affeldt (Carmen); his wife Joan Affeldt; and his children, Victor, David (Linda), John and Beth. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Henke-Clarson Funeral Home (1010 N Wright Rd, Janesville, WI 53546). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials may be made to Mercyhealth Hospice.
