He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Spangler and Emma Spangler (Sauber). He is survived by: his wife Carol Sue Spangler (Harris); his sons, James Spangler Jr. (Julie), John Spangler, Ron Spangler and Jeffrey Spangler (Michelle); his grandchildren, Alyssa Spangler (Chris Kalscheur), Brian Spangler (Kristina Jacobson), Craig Spangler (Madeleine), Dylan, Sienna, Caitlin, Collin and Hunter Spangler; his great grandchildren, Ian, Adelynn, Isaiah, Clara, Eric and Lauralie; his brother Tim Spangler (Kellie); his nephew Conner; and his caregiver Belen. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (315 Cherry St, Janesville, WI 53545). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location.
