He is survived by : his children, Rebecca Smith and Scott Dervin; his grandchildren, Alexis Smith, Ashley Smith, Alphonso Smith, Jr., Ania Smith, Aleasha Dervin, Alyssa Dervin, Alec Dervin and Aweahseah Dervin; his great grandchild Rico Anthony James Ortiz; his siblings, Rosemary Waupoose Gengler, Leatha Waupoose Grinhaug, Ivan Waupoose, Sr. and Lowell Waupoose; and his niece Gloria Jean Waupoose Gierach. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
