He was predeceased by : his parents, Ervin Schmitt and Agatha Schmitt; his sons, John Schmitt and Joe Schmitt; his brother Donald Schmitt; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Schneider and Glen Straub.
He is survived by : his wife Kathleen Schmitt; his son Pat Schmitt (Heather Radomski); his grandchildren, Riley (Ashley), Delany (Spencer), Emma, Owen and John; his great grandchildren, Wesley and Lacey; his daughters-in-law, Carla (Mike Rodenkirch) and Jenny; and his siblings-in-law, Deanna Frezyna (Tony), Charlotte Straub, Renee Braun (Steve) and Ron Schneider (Linda). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
