He was predeceased by : his father Otis Birr; his brother Gary Birr (Beth); his grandparents, Leland, Emma Casper, Henry and Felcie Birr; and his mother-in-law Laura Mroczynski.

He is survived by : his mother Betty Birr (Casper); his wife Karen Pallock (Mroczynski); his children, Mitch Pallock, Nicole McGonigle (Matthew), Kevin Birr (Kelly), Tyler Pallock (Laura), Little Suamico and Andy Birr; his grandchildren, Landen, Colten, Chilten, Trey, Conor, Brynn, Raegan, Reese and Camreigh; his pet Max; his siblings, Al Birr (Paula), Larry Birr, Shirley Sutrick (Joey) and Donnie Birr; and his father-in-law Norbert Mroczynski. He is also survived by siblings; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

This was especially evident in his last act of generosity, with the donation of his brain tissue to help cure PSP.
