He was predeceased by: his parents, Werner Zimmerman and Mabel Zimmerman (Dreier); his wife Janice Magnuson; his in-laws, Ben and Ruth Magnuson; his siblings, Eleanor Karis (Don) and Eugene Zimmerman (Belva); his brother-in-law Ira Denson (Marilyn); and his siblings' children, Doug Karis and Jane Erpenbach.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Zimmerman of Sparta and Sharon Zimmerman of La Crosse; his granddaughters, Melissa Guralski (Kyle) of Sparta, Rebecca Brown (Sam) of Sparta and Emily Zimmerman of Baraboo; his great grandchildren, Winston, Jackson, Allison and Franklin; his cousins, Barbara Kopplin of Eau Claire, Glen Dreier (Donna) of Norwalk and Marilyn Feldbruegge (Bob) of Menomonee Falls; and his friends, Dave, Sonia Collins and Donna Hahn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
