He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kerckhove of Verona, WI; his sons, Michael and James Kerckhove (Michele) of Mindoro, WI; his stepchildren, PeriAnne Huggins Olson of La Crosse, Curtis Huggins (Johanna) of Grand Rapids, MI, Brent Huggins (Shari) of Madison, WI and Jennifer Huggins of Madison, WI; his grandson Tanner Kerckhove of Richmond, VA; his stepgrandchildren, Benjamin Olson of La Crosse, Lucas Olson of Philomath, OR, Taylor Berkhout of Amsterdam, Leah Haskin of Evanston, IL, David Huggins of Tallahassee, FL, Rachel Huggins of Lee Summit, MO, Bryan Huggins of Grand Rapids, MI, Carly Huggins of Christiansburg, VA, Luke Huggins of Madison, WI, Chase Huggins of Madison, WI, Chester Huggins of Madison, WI, Alexander Stinson of Stoddard, WI and Collin Stinson of La Crosse; and his brother Eugene Kerckhove of Bloomer, WI.

George also served on the Board of Directors for the Gundersen Clinic Foundation in La Crosse.

“Our Prayers and deepest sympathy are with you and the family. This is Dan Eklund, a cousin from Tucson, AZ. We tried to see George on our trip to Minnesota in May but could not find an address or current phone number. I believe the last time I saw Geor.ge was at my sister Arlene's funeral in Winona in 2012.”
