He was predeceased by: his father Carl Bakkum; his wife Janice Marini; and his brother James Bakkum. He is survived by: his daughters, Jill Bakkum and Karla Bakkum; and his siblings, Clifford Bakkum (Mary), Douglas Bakkum (Carol), Orlan Bakkum (Denise), Curtis Bakkum (Leslie), Marlene Miller, Lorraine Dunnum (Russell), Barbara Engh, Janice Verse (David) and Bonnie Bakkum.
