He was predeceased by: his grandchildren, Rebecca Pepping, David Pepping and Michael Pepping; his siblings, Leon Broome and Rosemary Leek; and his siblings-in-law, Sharon Broome, Lauren Shelhamer, Donald Parr and William Leek.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his daughters, Diane Buss (Ron), Catherine Broome, Jeanne Pepping (Rick) and Debra Herman (Jeff); his grandchildren, Jennifer Brevard (Mike), Jill Schroeder (Ryan), Amanda Pepping (John), Matthew Pepping (Lauren), Julie Gaffney (Drew), Sarah Gordon (Scott), Andrea Schaub (Chad) and Jeremy Herman (Amber); his sisters, Geraldine Shelhamer and Marlene Bensch (Paul); his sister-in-law Sandra Parr; and his friend Bev Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bernard's honor to the Sun Prairie Colonial Club Senior Center.
