He was predeceased by: his parents, B. Eunice Rasmussen (Drollinger) and Albert Rasmussen; his granddaughter Emily Rasmussen; and his wife Iris Rasmussen. He is survived by: his sons, James Richard Rasmussen (Connie) and Richard John Rasmussen (Arlene); his grandchildren, Michael Rasmussen (Stacey), Jenny Westphal (Michael) and Hilary Rasmussen (Eric Plantenberg); and his great grandchildren, Shawn, Jacob Westphal, Jackson, Carson and Kaden Rasmussen.
In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to donate to the charity of their choice, preferably one that benefits children.
