Donald B. Antosiewicz Obituary
IN LOVING MEMORY OF A DEAR HUSBAND AND WONDERFUL FATHER Donald Bernard Antosiewicz, found peace on August 17, 2024 at age 74.
Don was born on April 7, 1950, and grew up on Little Muskego Lake. A child true to his surroundings, he fished, water skied, and raised chickens. As an adolescent he met his best friend, Dave, with whom he shared many unforgettable experiences with as they grew their families together.
As a result of his parents dying when he was young, Don grew up a bit fast. While working as a lifeguard, he continued his education, and graduated from South Division High School in Milwaukee. A loyal employee, he worked as a welder at A.O. Smith/Tower Automotive for over 30 years. Always lending a hand and renovating the homes of others, Don was considered a helper.
Don is survived by his beloved wife Gloria, children Michelle (Donna) and Chris, and his brother Mike.
A love story began when Don met Gloria on a blind date at the tender age of 17. A year later they eloped to Kalamazoo, Michigan and spent the next 56 years as husband and wife. Eager to start a family, they did just that having two children that meant the world to them.
On their journey, Don and Gloria built two homes, the first was in East Troy and the second was in Mukwonago. He enjoyed landscaping and the challenge of building his rec rooms and bars, making sure to have an aviary in both basements for his adored "Budgies.". Throughout the years he also always had aquariums with either salt or freshwater fish, some of which he even caught himself! This sparks a particular family memory in which Don removed a cast iron claw tub from his home, dragged it to the garage with his Harley, and filled it with guppies.
Of the many fond memories, the family shares that they camped in Florida for two weeks every May in Fort DeSoto. There they would fish, swim, go canoeing, and make a visit to Disney. Upon arrival, their first stop was always at Winn Dixie to get a wide brimmed hat for their daughter, a purchase made in the name of safety. Once Don placed the hat on her head, he would proceed to wrap her up in towels to keep her from burning up in the hot Florida sun. His efforts to keep his children safe also included tying his young son to a bench on the pier, as this was sure to keep him from falling into the water.
Included on various camping trips were his kids' best friends Mike and Jody, both of whom considered him a second father. If the neighborhood kids were asked to share what they remember about Don, they would likely tell you that he almost always won the "My dad can beat up your dad" arguments amongst them.
Don was most known for being adorable, helpful, thoughtful, kind, and loving to everyone in his earthly life. He was looked up to and admired by family and befriended many who crossed paths with him in his nearly 75 years. He will be greatly missed by all, but never forgotten.
