He was predeceased by: his parents, Friedrich Kanwischer and Wanda Kanwischer of Zörbig. He is survived by: his spouse Gabi; his grandchildren, Rita Schuetz (Michael), Lizzie and Mike; his siblings, Ingrid Seide (Arnold) and Erhard Kanwischer (Gerda); his sister-in-law Irene Arneson (late Tom); and his siblings' children, Ute (Volker), Kerstin (Andreas), Nico (Yvonne), David (Hope), Peter (Kari) and Kristina (Mike). He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
