She was predeceased by: her husband John Whalen. She is survived by: her children, Janice Thompson (late Gary) and James Whalen (Mary); her granddaughter Melissa Waughlen (Rachel); and her siblings, Mary Jane, Caroline, Dan and Aurelia.
