She is survived by: her parents, April Behounek and Guy Crosby; and her siblings, Brian Clayton, Gavin, Christopher, Myles Crosby and Anastasia Crosby.

“I never met Shaylin but the tragic event of August 15th will forever be etched in my life forever. I and my neighbors in the Drake, Colorado community were the first people on the scene of the horrific accident and we all did what Shaylin would have done and that is to render first aid to those who were injured. Shaylin will be forever a part of our community as we reflect with each other what we saw that night. Three young women's lives changed forever. Condolences to your family & friends.”

By the time she finished class, I truly believe she found her life calling. As one of her instructors, My heart broke when I heard the news of her passing.
