He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Polnow and Frieda Polnow; his wife Lucy; and his siblings, Harold Polnow, LeRoy Polnow, Alma Nimtz and Edna Polnow.
He is survived by: his child Glen Polnow (Lisa) of Alan Polnow; his grandchildren, Kelly Polnow and Anna Polnow; and his sisters, Viola Pike and Elda Richardson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for a memorial to be established in honor of Alvin's service to his country.
