She was predeceased by : her parents, Walter Koenigs and Rose Koenigs (Steffes); her former life partner James Winkler; her husband Ernest Merten; her granddaughter Natalie; her great grandchild Bennett; her parents-in-law, John and Irene Winkler; her sister Lou Ausloos; her former life partner Walter Kohlmann; and her siblings-in-law, Karl Grimes, Roger Anderson, Lee Alley, Lynn Koenigs, Jackie Zimmerman (John), Adeline Winkler, Hazel Blanck Sr. (Bob) and Mary Merten.

She is survived by : her children, Jim Winkler (Marianne) of Fond, Lac, Dennis Winkler (Barb) of Mount Calvary, Bill Winkler (Deb) of St. Cloud, Patricia Winkler (Paul Siekert) of Chilton and Mike Winkler (Robin) of Fond; her grandchildren, Brittany Fechhelm (Brooks), Troy Winkler (Amanda), Jen Brandt (Nate), Adam Winkler, Samantha Graham (Nathan), Joe Winkler, Vala Winkler, Heidi Degeneffe (James), Eric Meyer (Paige), Brody Glynn, Toni Winkler and Nina Winkler (Dylan); her stepchildren, Sandra Fritz (Mark), Phyllis Schmitz (James), Dan Merten (Mary) and Mary Jo Merten (Lupe Vasquez); her siblings, Marilyn Alley, Judy Winkel (Eugene), John Koenigs, Jackie Anderson (Gene), Paul Koenigs (Kathy), Peter Koenigs (Sue) and Jim Koenigs; and her brothers-in-law, David Winkler and Larry Merten. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

In lieu of flowers, plants, other memorial items, a memorial fund will be established in her name.
