He was predeceased by : his parents, James R. (Barbara Zainer) and Nicolas (Lucille Kotrodimos). He is survived by : his spouse Nicolette; his siblings, Gary Zainer (Susan), Gregory Zainer (Linda) and Jennifer Opichka (Steve); his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Ripp (William), Karan Kotrodimos (Michael Joseph), Christy Dunn (Jeffrey), Penny Kotrodimos (late Marcus Ness) and Michele Kasch (Rick); and his nieces and nephews, Kristopher Zainer (Kristen), Megan Zainer (David Sved), Alex Zainer, Kirsten Opichka, Adam Opichka, Jason Ripp (Caroline), Nicolas Ripp (Kambria), Paul Motto (Cheyenne), Michele Kotrodimos, Dana Ness and Kyle Kasch.

Over the years, Jeff earned recognition for his many contributions to the Department and community and retired as Captain in 2013.
