Rita E. Berendes Obituary

We are sad to announce that on July 11, 2020, at the age of 99, Rita E. Berendes of Norwalk, Wisconsin passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Leo Kappeler and Rose Kappeler (Steinhoff); her grandparents, Rich and Rita; her granddaughters, Maddie and Amelia; her children, Richard, Sue Horsfall (Jack) of LaCrosse, WI and Mike Berendes of Norwalk, WI.; her grandchildren, Kelly Fox (Jim), John Horsfall (Lori), Chuck Berendes (Polly) and Gabe Berendes (Annie); her great grandchildren, Katie, Olivia, Taylor, Maddie, Amelia, Charlotte, Louie, Hank, Eddie and Benet; her husband Richard; and her siblings, Justina Kruk, Margaret Rapp, Mildred Brueggen, Rosemary Kroeger and Ronald Kappeler. She was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given in Rita's name to St. John's Summit, St. Augustine Catholic church in Norwalk, Bethany St. Joseph Care Center or the Monroe County Humane Society.
