He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Potter and Margaret Potter. He is survived by: his wife Karin Butfiloski; his sons, Erik Potter (Christine) and Nicholas Potter (Jessica); his grandchildren, Chase and Caelie; and his siblings, Geoff Potter, Geri Potter, Melanie Downey and Steve Potter. He is also survived by many other nephews, nieces and cousins.
