He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Effenberger and Betty Effenberger (Pawlak); his mother-in-law Arnold; and his brother-in-law David Rasmussen. He is survived by : his wife Julie of Shawano; his son Josh Effenberger (Heather) of Shawano; his grandchildren, Emma and Levi; his sisters, Kaye Effenberger of Oconto Falls and Karen Fehling of Phoenix, AZ; and his siblings-in-law, Wayne Rasmussen of Oconto Falls, Mary Goldberg (Jeff) of Lake St, Rose Westenberger of Howard and Ruth Thielen (John) of Racine. He is also survived by his uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers and plants, the family prefers memorials in his name.
