He was predeceased by : his wife Irene Hirsekorn; his parents, Frank Nerenhausen and Stella Nerenhausen (Kruse); his daughters, Laurie Rowinsky (Tim), Debbie Birenbaum (Jim), Jacqueline Robinson (Daniel) and Robin Honish (Eric); his brothers, Gerald and Chester Nerenhausen; his brother-in-law Art Weber; his parents-in-law, John and Mary Hirsekorn; and his sisters-in-law, Esther Brooks (Clare), Helen Eifert (Norman), Ruth Armitage (Bill) and Arline Nikolaj (Richard).

He is survived by : his grandchildren, Nathan Rowinsky (Charanna), Zachary Rowinsky (Morgan Schreiter), Adam Birenbaum (Johannah Drago), Kylie McVey (Ryan), Andrew Robinson (Ashley), Donavan Robinson (Kristi), Danielle Robinson, Heidi Silverthorn (Addy) and Taylor Motiff; his great grandchildren, Layla, Willa, Ronnie, Alia, Miles, Sophia, Samantha and Georgia; his sisters, Helen Weber and Linda Gallagher (Bill); and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Nerenhausen and Marion Nerenhausen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Don & Irene Nerenhausen Christian Ministry Scholarship fund, in care of First American Lutheran Church, to be used for any person from the City of Oconto to study Christian Ministry.
